An unprecedented heat wave will affect north coast inland regions of B.C. beginning Friday June 25th. Residents can expect daytime highs ranging from 27 to 33 degrees Celsius combined with overnight lows of 14 to 18 degrees Celsius. Humidex values during this period will reach the high 30's. The extra demand placed on community water systems to keep up with all the consumption can result in lower pressures in certain areas in the Valley. We are asking water system customers to be smart with their water usage and limit outdoor watering to periods when the sun is low, winds are calm and temperatures are cool. Please remember that your neighbors who reside at or near the ends of distributions systems will likely be at greater risk of running low or out of water - we can all help by reducing our own usage where possible.
Water Conservation Tip: Lay a Frisbee upside down within range of your sprinkler. When it fills up, turn off the water, an inch of water, is all your lawn needs in a week.
