A road improvement project on Denny Island on the Central Coast will soon get underway.
“Crews will be focusing on gravelling six kilometres of road on Denny Island, as well as replacing several culverts along this stretch,” said Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Todd Stone. “The replacement culverts are non-toxic and environmentally-friendly, and are the least disruptive to streams and wildlife.”
Ministry staff will place gravel on approximately six kilometres on Denny Island. Roadside ditching will also occur to prevent further erosion of the road surface.
Work is scheduled to start in August, with completion targeted for October.
This project is part of B.C. on the Move, the B.C. government´s 10-year plan for the improvement of the province´s transportation network. The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure will invest almost $2.7 billion over the next three years to improve British Columbia´s transportation network.
