The staff at the CCRD are continuing to work with other agencies to advocate for the needs of the community during this difficult time. We are continuing our rigorous efforts to get clarity on supports available to assist our community in the face of further impacts from Wildfire.
We wish to thank the Nuxalk Nation for providing key staff for both the EOC and ESS. With the CCRD and Nuxalk Nation working together we have processed over 200 Pass Through Permits and Essential Services Permits to assist our community in coping with the Highway 20 closure.
Our Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) is in frequent conversation with the Cariboo Regional District, the Provincial Regional Emergency Operations Centre, Coastal Wildfire Services, BC Ferries, RCMP, Freight companies, Canada Post, and other key agencies. We thank all of the agencies named and more for continuing pre-planning dialogues with us so we are prepared to respond if the situation should worsen in our region.
Our Emergency Social Services (ESS) Reception has welcomed over 20 evacuees and will be located at the CCRD office starting August 15th.
Both the EOC and ESS will be open from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm.
