NOTICE OF INTENT TO CONSIDER BOARD

MEETING PROCEDURE BYLAW 541, 2024

In accordance with section 94 of the Community Charter and section 225 of the Local Government Act, notice is hereby given that the Central Coast Regional District (CCRD) Board of Directors intention to adopt Central Coast Regional District Board Procedure Bylaw No. 541, 2024, which will replace Central Coast Regional District Board Procedure Bylaw No. 519, 2022. This Bylaw governs the conduct of Council and committee meetings.

The proposed Board Meeting Procedure Bylaw No. 541, 2024 includes the following changes:

  • Mandating the use of a delegation and public input period application form and clarifying the process by which a delegation request may be declined or referred.
  • Outlining options for appeal of a decision of the Corporate Officer on delegation applications.
  • A requirement for submission public input period requests to be submitted in advance of meetings.
  • Clarifies expectations of respectful conduct during public input and delegation periods.
  • Limits delegations to one per person or organization every six months.
  • Limits the maximum number of delegations to three per meeting and the number of public input period speakers to five per meeting.
