PROJECT OVERVIEW

The Central Coast Regional District (CCRD) is proceeding with the design and construction of two (2) new
playgrounds in the Bella Coola Valley, located within Walker Island Park and Nusatsum Park.
The CCRD has issued this Request for Proposal (RFP) to invite qualified playground design-build
Proponents to present turn-key solutions to design, supply, and install the proposed new playgrounds.
Urban Systems Ltd. (Urban Systems) has been retained as consultants by the CCRD to administer this
RFP and provide technical review of the playground design and construction works.
The CCRD intends to select a single Proponent for both playground sites. The Successful Proponent(s) will
be invited to enter into a contractual agreement with the CCRD.

SITE LOCATIONS / DESCRIPTIONS

The project sites are located within the Bella Coola Valley, near the community of Hagensborg. The Valley
is accessible by road via Highway #20, approximately 450 km east of Williams Lake. Limited barge and
ferry service is provided via the Lower Mainland / Vancouver Island. Pacific Coastal Airlines also offers
regular flights to the Bella Coola Airport via YVR South Terminal.
